Join Our Community Garden

Our community garden is more than just a place to grow food, it's a space to grow together. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just curious about planting your first seed, we welcome you to join us in creating a shared space that celebrates culture, supports healthy lifestyles, and strengthens community connections.

Our goal is to bring community members into our garden space and build a sense of connection where people can share knowledge and learn about gardening together. We also aimed to promote healthy lifestyles, increase access to fresh produce, and create a welcoming environment where people from diverse backgrounds can collaborate, relax, and enjoy nature. With workshops we also hope for a great opportunity to celebrate local culture, and inspire community-led initiatives that support food sustainability.

Who Can Join?
Anyone who loves gardening or wants to learn is welcome. Participants must be at least 7 years old and supervised by an adult if under 18.

What We Offer
  • Shared Garden Beds: We have 16 raised beds, with one family or individual typically assigned to each.
  • Hands-On Learning: We’re not experts, but our gardener can teach you the basics and answer questions along the way.
  • Workshops: Seasonal workshops offer tips on planting, harvesting, and sustainable gardening—while also celebrating local culture.
  • Harvest Sharing: Participants are welcome to take home anything they harvest. Extra produce is shared during our community events.
  • Tools Provided: Basic gardening tools are available for use at no cost. You’re also welcome to bring your own.

Accessibility
We have two raised beds designed for individuals who use wheelchairs or have difficulty kneeling. Please note that while we strive to be inclusive, ADA accessibility at this location is limited.

When Is the Garden Open?
  • Summer: Open daily during daylight hours.
  • School Year: Open before and after school only, as the garden is located on public school grounds.

How to Get Started
To get involved, reach out to our Program Coordinator, Denise Salinas, at [email protected]. Once connected, Denise will help you get set up and provide garden access info.

Thank you!
